yesterday (1/13/04) i took my lancer in because the CEL was on, plus my speed odometer would go up like it was a second hand on the clock. Well i get the phone call from mitsubishi and they said that somebody has taken apart my dash, and messed up my speed odometer. Well i only took apart the gauge cluster to put in my tach light. I didnt mess with the needles or anything. Further more, they said i was missing a CAT, when i only have gutted out the resonator, also back when i got the valve cover for my car, it was leaking oil, cause i didnt put it on tight enough. Well it burned the o2 sensor, and they said that the silicone hoses from RRM are causing the CEL to come on also...which i dont believe cause of the o2 sensor. They said the sensor was fine, which Auto Zone told me that the o2 sensor was bad. I'm so lost!

 

Dealership is gonna tell you anything they have to, to get away with them having to fix your car man.

 

Face it. Dealerships hate mods. Period.

 

ya , dealership will go against anything you do to that car and make it seem like your fault 110% to get out from having to fix it, good luck and let us know how it turns out.

 

you're lucky they didn't void your warranty.

remember ALWAYS remove your mods when going in for warranty work

Take it to another dealership and see what they say.

Technically speaking they cannot void you warranty.

 

which dealership you going to? i slightly remember maxwell (in north san antonio) being pretty bad on the service side of things

 

How does one exactly gut a resonator? Never heard of such a practice. Make SEMA your best friend and you should be OK. Your hoses though can make your CEL come on (and I believe it's happened to other members) for a variety of reasons from pinching or just bad length.

 

one of the hoses might be pinched. I took it to gillman honda\mitsubishi, but i originally bought it from west loop mitsubishi...i took off the headers, and thats pretty much i could take off. Oh well, i'll find out tomorrow what they'll say about it.

 

odds are you messed it up when i put your lights in or something, i have many more mods than u and i am throwing a cel but mine is on cuz of the o2 sensor, take your car to mitsu ask them to replace the dash its all under warranty
