The Lancer EVO WRC

I know this might sound stupid. But will the WRC Evo ever be available to buy in America? If not, can anybody make it look somewhat like the WRC?

first step is getting any Evo over here. No the WRC probably won't be released anytime soon. But Evo's enjoy a huge following worldwide so once it gets here you have a decent shot at doing a custom WRC look to it.

Oh well.. I guess I'll have to paint it like the WRC, minus a few decals. I just love the color scheme so much, well that and a Black and Yellow scheme.

If I recall, WRC car manufactures have sold their cars before, like after a season or something, for private rally racers to buy.

Price was something in the $250,000 - $300,000 range though.

If you have the money, you can build your evo into a WRC car. At least yours will be made from brand new parts. Most of the parts there I believe is available.

If you want the WRC looks with the paint and all the fancy stickers...in Japan it cost 200000 yen, its takes them 1 day to do the job.

I have seen some diehard Makkinen fans, with the WRC look.

Sweet

I would probably go for that paint and sticker job 200,000 yen=1,720.33 USD so that isn't so unreasonable. I would make it look like the Tommi WRC though.

I think what you want is a WRC color car, not a WRC car. The WRC race car costs US $500,000. Just buy a red Lancer and put stickers on it to make it look like one, stickers= ~$100. You can have a body shop make you custom stickers.

The real wrc is a rally car, and you need one only to compete in wrc rally or as a collection car. A used subaru wrc would cost around 400000USD.
If u want just a faster evo for road use, it's much better to buy a standard evo and prepare it with japanese parts at around 500bhp.
For the look, you can easely buy a standard evo vii and make it look like the wrc.
If you want the same colour, buy a white or red one and paint it in marlboro red, with the white skirts and wing, buy enkei 18 wrc wheels, carbon mirrors and front lights, etc.

Have a look at http://www.cc.rim.or.jp/~woodbell/

Did Makinen ever drive a VII...? I'm not to sure but I think he drove one towards the end of the last WRC season and did not fare to well with it since it's a very different machine than the VI. I say forget going with the WRC schema and maybe go for the Evo Extreme look.
