You want scary?

ONSTAR is scary. Not bad scary, unless you really like your privacy (which I do).

(now the story for those who like to skim) My buddy owns a loaded 2002 Impala. We're lost one day, he hit the button, lady comes on "Hey Ryan, what's up?"
"We're lost"
"Where are ya going"
"______ (where ever the hell we were headed)"
"Okay, next left, then a right, then the parking is on the left... you're practically on top of it"
"K. Thanks... bye"

Fast foreward about 10 mins... still not there, pushes the button again "So you're still lost." same lady.
"Yeah, musta missed something"
"Yeah, you missed the parking... blah blah blah" either way... this woman had us on GPS, and watched us miss the parking lot.

Onstar can also be used to unlock your doors if you lock the keys in, call the police in the event of an accident... etc. Kinda scary how much they know about your car, where it is, what it's doing... etc.

yeah i heard rental companies filing suits against people when they had GPS showing a guy was speeding on a road...

as if the helicopteres and radios aren't enough we now have satellites watching us...we have almost NO chance of getting away in a high speed chase now!

We? who's "we"? I can see it now, me watching TV some day when I see breaking news of a chase involving a Lancer, and I'll be thinking "I wonder if that's Drive02Lancer"

edit: moving to lancer general, since it really has to do with the whole car and other cars, not really the engine.

This is very much true?!!!!!

The guys that work in my service department can figure out at any time the top speed and rpm's and any other technical info they need to determine if the warrenty will cover a problem caused by the driver

automatics for sure....

i am positive that there is a way for mitsu to see what we have done with an automatic. the dealership told me after i asked that they do have a way to make sure that if i did something stupid and caused the auto tranny to fall out that they could prove it was by my fault and void the warrenty. this may be bull**** but i will just take their word for it.

C'mon, if you are so naive to believe that on-star doesn't use GPS to track, you're nuts. They don't track you unless you call them. Otherwise, there are literally tons on on-star clients on the road. It's worse than the radar traffic controller seeing daily.
