plus talking about VIN swapping is an illegal matter and can cause KK the owner of this website/forum to be in trouble for allowing people to discuss the process' of doing VIN swaps.

 

if a cop was a little suspicious and had some knowledge about cars your chassis code is in the vin...they wont matchneither will your engine code...

ok the constant talk of street racing on forums is always illegal the people driving around with all this no carn legal stuff illegal ect ect im not talking about me doing it i cant afford a evo 7 man if i could i would have an 8 im just saying whats stopping someone from doing it Not what happens if your caught ect I know full well about evo conversions evo 7 kits just get an 8 thats not what im looking for im looking to see if there is anyone stopping you from doing it and at what pint is a car not a car I mean say you have this totaled lancer right ok now i take my evo engine put it in (saying thats even possible) moving on the the evo drive train weld on the panels on replace door ect till I have built a 7 from the 7 onto the oz anyone here think thats illegal?????? no if i was doing it and had the cash everyone here would be egging me on no one would say well your vin numbers dont match up any more you know would never be a issue who would look and if they did say well i built it from the ground up the question isnt what if someone should or what would happen the question is could you get this register inspected ect what is stopping some one

ok, closing. But to end any questions, it's not only possible, but has been done (but with a Mirage vin). I've heard it, seen it, and yes the owner knows he's screwed if he ever gets pulled over or in an accident. so, considering that, why bother? It would be better to buy it and trailer it as a track car and drive around a commuter car the rest of the time. That's my .02
