Wheel Offset Question
Wheel Offset Question
Hey guys,
I just have a quick question. I'm thinking about putting Rota's on my 03 oz. I'm looking at the Rota Grid 1570's 17x7 with a 45 offset. What exactly does the offset do?
Thanks for the help

Offset plus 38 with 5 mm spacer
Go 7 or 7.5" wheel width. a +38 offset with a 5mm hub centric spacer, this looks the best and works well up to a max size of 18" 's. remember if you buy a wheel that does not have the right center bore for our cars which I believe is 67.1, you will need to get these;

Otherwise you will damage your wheel bearings.
You will want to lower your car after getting rims in order to make the car look proper.
you will want to get an alignment after all this aswell.
personally I think 18's look the best on our cars but its all personal preference.

Offset
the offset of plus 45 will mean the wheels wont be very close to the fender and will be closer to the shock. a wider stance is always more disirable. you will have a gap between the fender and the tire. and this will look lame.
the offset refers to the position of the hub matting surface of the wheel and its position inside the center of the wheel. This is measured from the center line of the width of the inside of the wheel, and is basically either plus towards the outside(lug nuts) or negative toward the inside of the rim(shock), from the center point.
