Thanks for all the input guys, I'm goin to get some letters from some other transmission shops sayin that the tranny should be covered under warranty. Then imma go up there and show them and be like look, everyone else says it should be covered, why do you guys say it wont be??? Hopefully theyll come around...I'll keep you all posted.

like everyone says, it all depends on the dealership. some will try to void your warranty for the littlest things. other dealerships are really cool. the cool ones usually say "as long as there is no turbo or supercharger........we'll cover it". those are the ones you should look out for.

I have 3 dealerships within a short drive from me. it seems almost impossible to get an appointment. i guess they are really busy. (i dont know if that is a good thing). they did mention something about "race damage" or somthing like that, and that it could void the warranty. My question is, what would be considerd race damage, and how would they be able to determine if i did it racing or just driving like crap. can driving like crap void my warranty?

They can only void your warranty if they can prove the intake caused the problem. So I don't see why an intake would void the warranty except in cases of hydrolock or something else related to the improper install of it.

I've been doing my own warranty changes since I bought the car, and they've done 2 repairs under warranty since then. I think my dealership (Silver Star in Thousand Oaks) is pretty down to earth and wouldn't try to blame anything unless they really thought it was a problem. However, I am sure my upgraded suspension voids any suspension warranty, but my engine is still stock other than the RMR (Mitsu approved) intake.
