Yo guys just wondering....how many of you guys actually had a problem with your car that was under the warranty..cause the impression that i get that more than half the time if you have a problem most likely its not gonna be warranty related..no? thanks

No problems here. All the people that I know that have had no problem with warrenty problems either. I think a lot of it just comes down to the dealership. One of them did have a problem with something on the car that was not covered by warrenty, my understanding is that it was due to wear and tear (and it actually WAS)!

man i really got screwed

My mitsu dealer really is doin a number on me...I recently posted up about some problems with my trannsmission, well the tranny is stuck in 5th gear, theres a dime size whole in my transfer case, and a chunk of spider gears came out. Well I take it to them and within 5 minutes they call me back and tell me that because the vehicle was lowered and due to the "modifications to the vehicle", that they wouldnt cover it under warranty. Well the only mods that I have is a body kit, c/f hood, spoiler, intake, exhaust, painted interior, taillights, and its lowered alot. Well there are no visible signs of damage to the exterior of the tranny or transfer case. But they keep sayin they wont cover it. Now I have a hooked up Lancer that is just sittin in the garage and there really aint much I can do, or is there?...if anyone has any input or advise, please let me know cause I think this is all BS, please someone pm me or something...thanks...

Take it to a differant dealership. Mine told me the only stuff that they won't cover was stuff like if I installed a performence cluch and it caused the tranny to go bad or lowerd it and my shocks blew. They can't not cover something unless they can prove that one of your mods cause the problem.

... and by law they can't void your warrenty. They only say that cause some people don't know any better.

they can only not cover stuff that they can PROVE was due directly to YOUR modification. So in other words they need to fix the car for free right now based on what you say. Otherwise just get a lawyer. One phone call from a lawyer is usually enough.

But they will be like "we didn't void the warrenty, as soon as he put the performance part on he voided it".

Well ive had two problems so far nothing major just littles things. The first one was that the moldings on my front side pillars, top of the front windshield and top of the back windshield were loose and coming off. They fixed them now they are on nice and tight. The second problem was that my glove box wouldnt close and i took it in they fixed it by tighting the screws and they ordered me a new lock for it which is coming in on friday all i have to do is take my car in. I mean im not gonna go and say they are the best but so far they havent given me any problems about fixing things or asked me stupid things like what did i do to the car or saying that my tint and racing banners voided my warranty.
