Cams!!!

ROADRACE this goes out to any company but mainly them cuz SO FAR they care the most about us lancer owners

i would like a cam for my car. i don't mind if its not a performance cam but i would mainly like a hollow cam to get rid of some weight and possible fill the cam with sodium or something to reduce engine temps. i am pretty sure the evo comes with something like this stock. a hollow performace cam would be ideal.

also on a related note, can the rrm piggyback ecu still be used when i get a performance cam??

Why create a non-performance cam? No company is going to do that zany idea.

Basically, have you looked at the cost of a cam upgrade? It doesn't come cheap. Also, search the board. There is already a company for lancer cam.

yeah there is a performance cam out there for 330 from vision imports. i consider that pretty cheap but they need lots of tuning and no one i know of has really tuned it properly yet. until someone does i am hesitant to get it.

Plain and simple, i trust roadrace. they are great to work with and nice people. honestly they are out to make a buck but thats the whole idea in this world lol.

a non performance cam that was hollow would be a performance cam. the lighter the better, it would spin easier if it was lighter or so i think. somone more knowledgable than i can answer that better.

Unfortunately, people use RPW cam gear, which has no timing mark (I have seen one in person), and it scared the jebus out of me. You can use your stock cam gear and tune it . . . just know how to +/- 3 degrees conservatively on the dyno.

As for RRE/RRM, I'm well aware of their awesome customer service. They have catered to DSM'ers for a long time.

Lighter is better = using exotic material = high cost

The best example is to read up on the material from Jun, Toda, and other manufacturers' in nissan or toyo camp . . . the cheapest is the regrind way.

Run a search for posts by Uranium9v ragarding cams. Not only does he have a nice one, but claims noticeable hp gains and improved mpg. He once mentioned a curiosity about it's performance with the ecu reflash, but I don't know if he ever tried it.

Well, HCT doesn't want the RPW route. That's what I'm reading, unless gravely mistaken.

As for more choices, people will have to start admitting tha mitsu products aren't exactly a hotbed for performance parts like the H&A crowd.
