Which Research Octane Number (RON) I can use for my Mitsubishi lancer GL model 2004

I haveMitsubishi lancer year of manufacture 2004 , 1300 CC engine and four doors ,where I bought it from Mitsubishi agency in Jordan. There are two types ofgasoline in the gasoline stations either; gasoline octane 95 OR gasoline octane90.

i always put gasoline octane 95, but sine the prices now differ a lot . So is it safe touse octane 90 instead of 95 , or Mitsubishi lancer is designed to use octane 95?

Second questionif the ratio can be between for example 90-95 then is it safe to put half tank of 95 and the other half with 90 so the result will be around 92?
Best Regards

Hello,

Welcome to the forum.
You can use the lower 90 octane without issue and improved mileage to boot.
Yes, if you mix two grades in 1:1 ratio then the resulting octane will be in the middle.

A high compression engine from stingy Mitsubishi in 2004 is doubtful.
Is your engine a 4G13 ?
If it is you could probably mix 87 octane with water and it would run.
Just kidding !!!!

Look for the engine number on the engine block instead, and check on the plate mounted on the firewall too.
