Winter Cold air

I am wondering if it is bad or not to run a cold air intake during winter months '
Gas millage? would it kill it hardcore ? seems my car is horrible on fuel , 2009 GT!

could or would salt clog or affect anything ,
need thoughts and opinion on this one I read a good fair mix on this

intake is right below the driver fender inside behind the fog lol ,

Colder air is denser, denser air has more oxygen in it, engine needs more fuel to even out mixture. Add to that idleing more to let car warm up and whatnot and that's why fuel milage could be down. Nothing bad about running your intake, might get dirtier quicker with all the salt/snow/dirt/slush on the ground. Just clean it and re oil it when it gets dirty.

Was more worried about salt pluggin up the filter , that's what I heard and I guess could decrese fuel millage I would imagine as it might take longer to warm up
but I usualy oil it and had it oiled and clean during the summer

the filter is a hassle to get at! cold air is not in a good place ,
