I asked them if my 2002 Lancer es had keyless entry they said I dont and couldnt get it. Is that right? I recently bought the car used and only got regular keys but when I got my car there was another 2002 lancer es at the lot that had keyless remote entry..

My 02 oz rally has keyless entry. So idk if that person u talked to didn't know what they were talking about or maybe your car in particular didn't get the option out of the factory.

I think it was an option on the ES, and standard on every trim level above that.

I was told that If I had the metal piece in pins 1 and 4 and I see junction block on the ETACS−ECU or something then I have keyless option.

Thanx!!! Yeah, I noticed that...many are just the shells to replace only. the one I got is the whole deal with the programming instructions with it. I almost got caught, but wondered why some were so cheap....then I saw the word..shell. gotta try and stay out of those trick bags. Thanx for reminding us!!!

if you can't and/or find out you can't use yours, I may take it off your hands if I can get mine to work so I have an extra for her car. at least you won't have wasted money.

can someone tell me....the instructions refer to a date port and jumping pins 1 and 4. is the date port the black OBD2 port or the white port/plug next to it.

after further reading..seems the instructions have a typo, should be a data port instead of date port. still, from what I have read, seems like that is the white plug next to the OBD2 plug, although, one thing I read said the data port is in the trunk. still not sure what to jump, other than the terminal numbers. anyone?
