I just ordered 2 pioneer speakers to replace my front stock speakers. Cause lancer speakers are not good . I plan on installing them myself and from what I've heard about putting new speakers is you need an aftermarket harness.
I'm not exactly sure what harness I need. I saw one on car I'd but it was 28 dollars and I would need two! I don't wanna buy anything and it not work . or can I just said sauder them together or splice the wires and use wire connectors.

I know the speakers wont sit correctly in the door because the stock speakers have an adapter on them that make the screw mounting areas sit further away than what the aftermarket speakers will. For the wires I just twisted them together and electrical taped them. Been holding up for over a year. That's just from my experience of doing it in my car.

Mounting brackets will be the better idea because I believe the speakers barely cleared the hole and u would b drilling pretty close to the end of the metal near the hole. I mean it might b ok but that just seems iffy to me.

Crutchfield has the speaker harnesses you need. work for front and rear. just did it on the rear on my daughter's car.

or I think they are on e-bay also. work fine.

Haven't done the fronts yet, but I had a pair of 6.5's that have been sitting around for a long time, Alpines, that went right in for the rears with the only change being that one of the mounting holes for the OEM speaker grille, I used to thread the speaker harness down thru. still has two of the three mounting screws holding the grille, so no problem there and the grilles fit fine over the Alpines.
