DynoFlash is full of ****. Never going to happen. There, I said it.

rcefstsfecr - the only thing you "notice" ??? So there could be more? And yes, an aftermarket exhaust is a mod.

True but there are so many other's out there with Mitsu reflash technology. There has to be one possible taker.

Here's what i'm trying to say:
1) You're not fastest
2) You're not stock

Please stop trying to argue either point. And if you'll pay for round trip airfare, I'll inspect your car at the airport to tell you why you're not stock while I'm waiting for my return flight. My next available weekend is the 30th. I'll provide a list of tools you'll need to bring. nothing fancy, but a jack and stands for sure

I still have my flashed ECU. I get the feeling it still is trying to learn around it. Like if I don't drive hard for 50-60 miles I'm getting a lower power tune. Coupled with an AFC I've been able to keep it under control, but still feel the difference between the hard driving tune and grandpa driving tune. I guess the standalone is the only real solution.

to swing back to the OT, the question about piggys (and now reflashes) is this: is the ECU learning around the tune? I don't think anyone who has a RRM piggy has done any wideband testing to see if the tune is holding.

BUT- I may have a solution that's really pretty easy if you can do your own piggyback wiring. I put a simple switch inline of the 2 12v switched power lines yesterday. When the switch is off, no power to the ECU so no starting. But, there's a constant 12v that I think is feedign the ECU enough that it remembers. I'm going to splice that tonight and see if that doesn't do the trick to reset the ECU everytime you flip the switch. the benefits are: no clumsy battery unplugging to reset the ECU (so you can keep your presets, trip mileage, etc) and it prevents the car from being started. It's not exactly lojack, but it'll buy you a couple minutes while a theif looks for the switch.
I'll post in the thread I linked to above whether the additional wiring works.

this reminds me of this kid i know and his svt focus. i believe he claims his 1/4 is 1sec less than what car and driver/motortrend reports.

Dave at RPW has never heard of this problem. He thinks I'm cracked.

Petey: you're saying that -just- replacing the muffler/axle back is sufficient to take nearly a full second off a of quarter mile?! Tell me you're joking.

no, no, no...im saying that him thinking that isnt a mod is rediculous. and i wouldnt say nearly a full second. my slowest times were never higher than 16.9 stock. but remember the track im at is basically sea level, so maybe his is too.

the fact is that mods don't do much on our cars, and it takes big bucks to make it fast especially NA...

it would be amazing to see an NA lancer running in the 14s.. thats what i wanna see. none of this 15, 16 and 17 sec BS! echo, sentra, civic, cavalier.. all slow *** cars, they all run these times..!! our car is slow, but our advantage is the torque! we dont have to rev the **** out of it to get going!

i would love to see a well tuned NA ES running some respectable times...
