diy grounding questions

i'm trying to make my electrical system a little more stable. i've added a fairly large system and i want to do what i can to make it more reliable. basically i need to know 2 things. in a ground kit, like the hyper ground system, what wires come with it. and second, where do i find the wire from the positive terminal to the alternator. i've looked for a while, but i'm having trouble following them.

thanks in advance.

umm... unless you want to get fried, you're not going anywhere near the positive terminal on your battery. that's why it has a big red plastic cap on it.

as far as grounding points go, here is a thread with lots of help:

good luck. you should need about 5-6 cables, lengths are also listed in that thread.

why would i get fried? if the battery isn't connected then there isn't a problem. thanks for the link, though. any way, does any one know where this wire is?

Uh, the big red cap is to keep the wires protected from the elements, not to protect humans from dying. There are more parts to the positive cable, so it has the red thing to protect it.

Jon - good luck with the grounding kit; mine's been worthless.

then why does the negative terminal not have one?

i'm just saying, ground to neg, not pos.

blacksheep, do you not notice even throttle response a little better? or a better idle even? many say it's a placebo mod, but i could swear...

thanks jtc but i need to know where the wire is. i was on a car audio forum and they mentoined three wires to change, positive to alternator, negative to engine block, negative to chassis. thats why i'm looking for it and that's also why i'm doing the grounding. not for performance, for a more stable electrical system for my subs.

Nothing, nada, zip, zilch. But it could just be the way I hooked it up. I didn't use the tranny bolt, and I used the extra bolt on the passenger strut. I'll be trying to reposition the kit when the weather improves.

jtc - while the help is appreciated, that is a manual for Evos.

I think I have a pic that someone suggested to me for Lancers...
