dealers suck!!

so i'm at the dealer today to get them to order a new part cause my side skirt was starting to chip...so anyways i mentioned about the RMR intake which i wanted to get...but of course they dont do that kind of stuff at that dealer, and he said he'd strongly advise that i dont do that because he sees a lot of problems with them after its done, which i cant see happening...its a freaking intake how much can honestly go wrong....i just think they want nothing to do with it...but thats dealers for ya, they sell you the car then they dont give a crap what you want....it sucks to cause you buy a car and then they make you feel strapped down so that you cant do what you want to it...so now im like back to square one with not knowing what to do so let me know what you guys think, hopefully you can help me out or at least give me a little insight...thanks!!!

My dealer is the opposite...He thinks he knows everything about RMR, but when he ordered me the susp. Ralliart kit, he argued with me over the fact that it wont fit the ES with out more parts....after calling RMR he found out who was right...now he is always kinda a dick to me...shame on me for knowing more than him...

what a load of crap! my dealer was pretty cool with it, he didn't know much about RRM but he said whatever you do to your car is your business, however, if sumptin happens and the car breaks down and its the fault of the intake or sumptin, which it almost will never be, that the repair won't be covered under warranty. but i don't care, because their is a slim chance to none that anything will happen! good luck

yeah its really messed up, it's my car, i'll do what i want!! although i've been thinking about not doing an intake at all now for the time being...i was looking at the intake already on the lancer..and it really seems like it has a decent set up and im thinking about just going with a simple K & N air filter..has anyone else done this..and if so...how'd it go?!

the KN RULES!!! There was an instant difference. I got mine at AJUSA.com for $65.55 (no tax, no shipping charges) and it took just over a week to get to Seattle from SoCal. The fit is just a little tight, but the housing is this really heavy oiled rubber and closing the clips on top of the filter housing helped seat it properly.
the K&N part number is 33-2105.

Enjoy!

You will not get any performance out of your stock intake with a K+N you might get better fuel econ but that is it.There are three dead air pockets on the stock intake that reduce air flow like you wouldn't believe. If you are going to spend your money spend it on something that really works.I have the Injen CAI and works just as good as it sounds. The Injen is 3" dia the stock is about
1.250" with the air pockets on there to you would be shooting yourself in the foot with the ($69)K+N.

Just spreading the facts

yeah my dealer had my side panels painted at a local body shop and believe it or not, the color of the panels is even closer to the lightning yellow than the stock panels were. So i was happyabout that! Def. go with CAI over short ram or factory filter replacement. HP better....if you want anything get the RRM turbo!!!!!
