Turning a lancer 1.8 into an EVO
Turning a lancer 1.8 into an EVO
Hey guys,I know you probably had like 1000 threads like this but i really need your insight about this subject!
I'm planning to get an automatic lancer 1.8 sport version upgrade its engine to a mivec turbo 4B11T instead of the stock one.And if possible turn the car into a AWD instead of FWD
The reason that i'm doing it and not buying an evo is because evo is not sold here through the dealership/second hand and soon as mitsubishi will stop making them soon it will be unavailable to import them(If the car is more than two years old it can't be imported)
I know this is a harsh and expensive process but i really want to drive in an evo but as my dreams shatter i need to come up with other solutions.
My concern is :
1.What has to be done to make it happen
2.how expensive it will be
Thanks for all of the help you'll give me guys

if it is going to cost you for that to get an evo expect almost double that for parts, plus labor if you can't do it yourself. There would be a ton of work to put into that car to make it worth while. It isn't just a swap motor, trans, and drivetrain into a car, you would have to make sure everything lines up, custom parts will have to be fabricated to make them go in like stock, plus you would have to get wiring harnesses, plus whatever computers that control everything that an evo would have. Oh lets not forget body panels, wheels, seats, driveshaft, gas tank, and whatever else that your not going to find aftermarket. Oh and there is the big one international shipping that will have your stuff sitting at customs forever. Good luck with that one.
LOl quote of the day right there folks. Yeah its a pain in the *** but its how it works unfortunately. By the time you get everything in you will lose interest in the project. I wanted to do a nt to turbo awd for a 3000gt and its just not worth it and all I really have to do is cut out a few spots and reweld brackets for the driveshaft and a mount for the gas tank but my god what they want cost wise for parts its ridiculas.
