Trying to get new and wider tires

So i currently have stock tires 215 45 18 in my 2009 mitsubishi gts, but i want to go ahead and get wider tires and i was thinking about 225 45 18. will they fit properly or could it be any problems? Anybody know or have 225s in there cars?

As far as I know you shouldn't have any figment issues or rubbing issues. However I don't own a GTS I own a RA but the vehicles have the same amount of clearance if I'm not mistaken. Just be aware that if you want 225 45 R18's then your Speedometer will read 1.36% too slow. Your other option for 225's would be 225 40 R18's these will make your Speedometer read 2.12% too fast though. Your Choice

I actually switched from the 215's to the 225's and it was the best decision I ever made. I will not ever go back to 215's at all. The drive is smoother too, like its hugging the pavement
