Check this site out! They sell bare exhaust piping in 3 sizes for the us lancer! It's full stainless too! I can't believe I didn't see this before.. All you would need is some welding and any bolt on muffler!

Don't you guys see how great this is? the possiblities?? You could buy any universal muffler for your lancer! and the piping is already made for you... This means hundreds of new exhausts... You would no longer be limited to Greddy, RMR, Buschur, magnaflow, ect...

For instance, this site sells all kinds of universal mufflers from really high quality companies..

http://www.optauto.com/webstore/depa...pt=306&last=12

For example, a Veilside Titanium Muffler, with full stainless 2 1/2 in. mandrel bent piping:

$285

and 2 1/2in stainless piping for:
$215

That's $500 for a custom Titanium exhaust that nobody has yet for the lancer.

Another example for the turbo guys on the forum:

HKS Carbon Titanium Muffler

$316

and the 3in stainless piping for:
$225

That's only $541 for a HKS Carbon Titanum 3in Exhaust!

If you're on a budget, you could easliy pick up a universal exhaust for about $25-$30, and the piping for $215... and there you go, a full stainless catback for about $240!!

what does the piping consist of? is it just the catback piping or does it include a down pipe as well? are they just pipes or are there flanges on them?

the piping consisits of Flanges, Hangers, and the clamps to hold together the seprate pieces.

This would be the piping from the cat, so you would still retain that. A buschur Cat is 2 1/2 in, so that would be a perfect fit for the 2 1/2in piping with a buschur downpipe or a RPW Header.

My guess is that is only for the lancer and not the EVO, correct?

doesnt seem like too great a price to me. you still ahve to pay shipping, the muffler, and welding so will probably come out the same as other systems that dont take all the work to put together.

Well, for the first two examples, I picked 2 of the most exotic mufflers I could find on the site. This is why it costs around the 500 range... No one here has anything like it... and you would be totally unique...

A full stainless exhaust with a titanium muffler for around $500 is a damn good deal!

$500 is a good price, but you are forgetting about the labor cost for welding everything together. It might be more cost effective to buy an already made cat-back system. I do see your point though about different set-ups.

The most common sign that this is a dealer would be if his first post was something like this, linking to a company website. But it's NOT, he's been posting for about a month now, so maybe not (ya never know) but that's a decent site, but I do think the prices are a bit high. I can get a custom catback welded up for about $200-300 plus the cost of the muffler. So the prices on this thread are about the same, except you're still left with the labor to do.

Hehe, I wish I could have my own business. I'm still a poor college student.. I don't drive a Lancer, but my friend did, and introduced me to this forum. I really like the enviroment here and the people here seem really friendly and helpfull..

It's just that there are so many great ideas out there for cars, and I feel the US lancer has a lot of potential. I couldn't help but to try to be of help for evolutionm.net. The US Lancer is still a young line of cars. There is a huge unexplored world out there that you guys can tap into.

I'm sorry I came off as a dealer. It's just that my friend went through 3 exhausts for his lancer, but all of which have already been done before. I just thought it would be great for the people here if they knew they had the option to build a totally unique quality exhaust system, and to know where to get the parts for it.

Thanks a lot!

- wait - why would we have to pay for welding? Are the catbacks on that webpage just not bolt on like the ones from buschur and greddy? or do those require welding as well?

umm - will an EVO exhaust fit on the lancer ? I know thats a stupid question, but felt like i need to ask since im not 100% sure on the answer.

PS - that veilside muffler looks pretty nice - anyone know how it sounds and performs?

I dont think im going to be getting a new exhaust anytime soon, but prob. right after i go turbo, which is within the next 2 months hopefully.

The evo cat-back will NOT fit on the US lancer. it's a much straighter design, so the exhaust path on the bottom of the car is a lot different.

The Fitting on the kteller one is, I believe, a slip on and clamp design. The only parts i would think needs welding would be at the flage where it meets the cat and the hangers.
