lancer wagon swap

I love the evo IX wagons I think they look amazing and practical. I'm completely new to mitsubishis but I know that in mk 4 VWs you can put the R32 engine and drivetrain in pretty much any golf or jetta. Is this the same with the lancers? cause I know that they brought some wagons to the US but most seem to be autos. would swapping in the evo IX guts be more trouble than its worth?

Far from being an easy job. There are at least two conversions on the Project logs forum, and involve bits from a donor vanilla Lancer wagon, an Evolution IX and an Airtrek, plus heaps of conversion work .

Not a straight-forward swap at all unless you have $ or can do some fab work on your own

Only wagons in the US ever were Lancers, no evo trim.

Yes, swapping anything more than a motor would be more trouble than it's worth.

I would expect to have to swap floor pans at the least. the evo 9 wagon has chassis code CT9W whereas the regular wagon has code CS9W. most all the lancers are a CS series chassis. whereas evo 7-9 is CT9A, CP9A CN9A etc.

yeah to put the awd system from an r32 into a regular golf you need the rear floor pan, gas tank, and obviously the drive train. do you know if there is already space for the drivetrain or would I have to cut out some more of the floor?
