Talking Pricing on trade-in @ Mitsu Dealer?

Just curious my friend was asking so I am asking here because he doesn't go online... he has an ES with 28k on it.... He was wondering how much people have been getting for it their lancers so he doesn't get screwed because the mitsu dealers around here suck.......

How much have you gotten/been quoted and what is trim/mileage of your car?

Trade-in values are probably the most skewed numbers in the world. I was offered $3000 trade-in for an old Taurus one time, but the sale price of the car was $2000 over retail!

But the Kelley Blue Book value for our cars seem to be right around $10,000 at the moment.

I was offered 6k for my ES with 22K miles, so I would imagine he'd get the same or less.

I paid $8100 for my 2002 ES with under 10k miles. I'd say if he can get $6000 he'll be doing OK. Resale value sucks bigtime on our cars. Only good thing about that is you can buy the used for very cheap.
