a pillar gauge install
I finally got a day off to install my boost and egt gauge.
The 2 gauge "a pillar replacement" pod I got seems to be a cover.
The tweeter cut out is there, but no mesh am I supposed to cut the factory pillar up? There are also no places for the clips inside the new piece so i'm not sure how it will stay in place without securing it to the factory cover.
any help would be appreciated, off to the garage...
(oh yeah, i tried a search and it was un fruitful)

alot of people get 3m double sided tape for the pillars with no clips and it holds up well trust me, i have carbon fiber pillars with gauge pods and they have been on there for a while and there still rock solid. I layed on the 3m tape thoe.
use a dremel to cut the stock pillar. you will have a top section and a bottom section. the center will be open to allow gauge access. using jb weld secure the two oem sections to the new pillar, the tweeter mesh from the oem pillar will line up with the cutout in the autometer pillar. This now allows the pillar to snap in place.
Suggestion: do not tap into factory wiring if you can avoid it. use another accessory like the harness you added for a turbo timer etc. Use a test light to find appropriate locations to tap.
side note, the provided vac line for the sensor is only necessary for the sensor. If you cut the line for the fuel pressure regulator insert the "T" in the factory hose. use a little oil to assist the hose to slide on. after you take it for a little drive push the hose on a little further the warm hose will be softer.
Hope this helps someone!

Most Auto Meter gauge pods go over the stock A-pillar and require drilling/cutting to run lines/wires. Auto Meter does make full pillar replacements, but not sure if they make one for the EVO yet. This is a good place that sells full replacements, this is where I get mine:
http://www.gaugepods.com/mitsubishi.html
They also come in colors to match the stock interior better.
