Question making my obd2 port compatible with a basic scan tool on a 97 mitsubishi lacner

Hello everyone

recently I have got a basic scan tool that isnt MUT-II compatible, and it doesn't work on my 1997 mutsubishi lancer, the obd2 port got pins 1,4,5,7,9 and 16, I know pin 7 is the k-line but I think the problem is that it doesn't have pin 15 that is the L-line, so my question is, is there a way to create a L-line on pin 15 or simply by connecting pin 1 to ground will do the trick.

thanks.

Hey Brayan!

So Mitsubishi Lancer GLX 1.3 1997 has MUT-II protocol?
I bought one scan toll as well which is OBD2 and when I plugged it in, it says it is not supported.
I thought it was OBD2..
Did you figured out making it compatible with OBD2?

Hello every body ,

I've got the same Problem, the SRS light is permanent ON , in my Lancer cj GLX 1997 i had some Elctric problem because of a cheap china radio, but now I resolve the problem with Radio but The SRS Light still on and i need to erase it from the ECU so I bought an OBD Scanner but iit trying to connect and then Connection failed , so do you have any idea how to get scanner wich can talk to my beloved lancer ?? and id an OBD - USB adapter can help , so wich one should I buy ? or wich Protocol does Mitsi used in Laceres !997 ??

Thank you so much
