I NEED help with my new MUFFLER
Hmm... did you just buy the muffler itself and not one that was made for our Lancers? The one I got from the dealership has all the hanger brackets welded on to the right places, all I had to do was unbolt the old pipe and bolt the new one back on.
From the looks of it, you'll not only have to get that welded on to the existing pipe, but have brackets bent and welded on for it.

Nice muff... I got mine welded for free, but I guess thats not really helping you too much heh..
Umm okay, I'm assuming you can weld. So yea, that muff's inlet pipe is probably some really ****ty size that doesn't match and OEM pipeing, probably like 2 3/8's... or something rediculous... So you'll need some extra pipe and a pipe expanding contraption mojo... to make the pipe fit on to the muffler and to your car. Then you need brackets for your muff if the excisting ones dont fit.
If you can do all that by yourself, then go for it. Other than that, make sure a professional does it properly for yea...

Do not go to Crappy Tire, they will overcharge and screw up something else at the same time. If you go there, ask if you can stick around in the Bay area. That way, you'll see what they're doing and what they're not doing. If you go there, you also have to calculate how much time they spend on your car.

someone please clarify that, would ya?
well taking out the car is illegal... because the car wont pass smog and emissions... also... no shop will take out the cat unless its a side job... yet some states have different emmissions laws so they don't care
dexter just welding a muffler on u won't really feel a difference...it will be all placebo.
hell i got an intake and axleback and think my car is still only fast from the placebo effect. but i got a stupid automatic that blows so i dunno....ive timed my 0-60 on my headunit several times...always 9.5-10 seconds...its slow
