This forum has an admin who OWNS the site. It's a private site. He has moderators who he asks to monitor and organize the site in a fashion he has deemed appropriate. If you don't like the way a thread has been handled I'd suggest you bring it up with another moderator or the site admin. More importantly I'd suggest you just take it easy. Sometimes threads/posts get edited. Sometimes they get deleted. It's really not something we abuse as moderators. Again, if that happens and you don't like it then PM KK or another moderator and let someone know. It is as the moderator's discretion what gets edited/deleted, but that's not to say it's the final word. The forum rules should explain it a little better.

And btw, I've deleted the first post that you duplicated in the beginning of your second post, ruip. Don't be shocked.

I perfectly understood the reason for the editing, due to the fact of how off topic it got... but, I think that it would have been better to leave some of the old posts due to the fact that it would prevent (maybe) other people from posting more off topic stuff, and thereby getting this thread closed, when I think that what is here, and I think others might agree, could be helpful in another situation. I don't think we should let a possibly erroneous estimate on HP overshadow the possible usefulness of this innovation.

Yeah, I didn't mean to direct that at you, SL. I know you'll talk to the mod directly too if you have a serious problem.

Truth be told I'm still curious what this guy cooked up...however skeptical I am.

Hobie, I knew you weren't directing it at me. You know you can be more pointed with me if I'm jerking around. All I was doing was trying to backstop you, and just put my .02 worth of agreement in.

Seriously, though, while I think the numbers are off (if anyone knows anything about posting horridly off numbers, it's me), whatever it is, it'll probably be controversial in some form or fashion. Someone mentioned that dry ice idea, and that's really perked my ears up to think that there might be simple, cheaper, and easier ways to cool that air. Maybe not in this way or another, but, this shows thinking down the right path, and that's why I'm defending it, and am totally interested.

Strip a fridge and put the heat coils far away from the intake and the cooling parts in an airbox? Holy impracticality, Batman!

I can't imagine there's much left to be thought of that's practical and isn't already in use in other cars. That's a HUGE part of why I find this so difficult to believe. It's not like the Lancer has a unique intake system, you konw?

Exactly what I was thinking. If this is true it would be an innovation for ALL cars. Somehow he's "discovered" something that both AEM and Injen hasn't.

hmm...this sounds too good to be true...but your not the first person to make a so called "true cold air" intake. If your gonig to get some kind of colder air i bet your going to pass the air through some kind of super cold intercooler type device. Like just being stupid and extream.....running the air through an intercooler being pumped with liquid nitrogen. a good -200 or more degrees. Thats would cool the air of rather good.. lol . but your missing a key factor, you cannot just add more air, even cooler air and expect to gain that much power...you will need more fuel too. its more air and fuel = more power...not just more air...you can get more power just with air...but its not safe. you will run lean....then...any way...some ppl run their nitrous like around their intercooler because it cools the air off even more..at least i'm pretty sure thats why they do it, cuz nitrous is cold whe it gets used right??......ok done.
