Vacuum Leak
Vacuum Leak
My son has a 2013 Lancer, I believe it is the 2.0SE model. The car has a very rough idle. Using a scanner and watching live data, I can tell there is a vacuum leak but I could not find it. I sprayed carb cleaner around the intake boot and you can hear the idle settle down and run good for a few seconds. I thought it was the intake boot so I bought a new one and replaced it but the problem was still going on. I do not own a smoke machine so I brought it to a shop who works on our company trucks and he told me that it was leaking from the EGR valve and I needed to replace the gasket. Now when I try to find any video's online of someone doing this job, I find nothing. Does anyone know of any websites/YouTube videos showing either a full replacement of the EGR or the gasket? I would like to fix this for my son without having to take it into a shop, but I like to watch a video or 2 before hand just so I know what I am getting myself into.
Thanks for any information or help on this issue.
