i tried goo-gone and goo-be-gone on my headlamps and neither worked to well.. then i went to Taylors-Do-It Center and got some adhesive remover w/ orange clean in it... its in a clear bottle and comes w/ a free scrapper... go look for it, i can get you the exact name tomorrow, i'm to lazy to walk downstairs at the moment.. but anyways, that worked really well and everything came off .. and they smelled good

first remove the "meat" of the tape, so all you have left is the adhesive residue(either do it carefully with a knife or use an old credit card). then take any cleaner with a good amount of orange extract and use that. the more the better as the citrice seems to eat right through adhesives. that should take all of it off. you might have to let the orange sit there and do its work, but eventually it will come off

There's always acetone as well, but I think that will actually eat your headlight casing as well. It does that sometimes with plastics.
