How to remove door chime???

I would like to remove the door chime when the door is open so that I can listen to the stereo without turning the car on.

Does anyone have a how-to for this? I tried a search and found nothing.

Thanks

I got it.....

1) Remove 3 screws on underside of steering colum and remove top and bottom pieces.

2) Locate small white plastic box just behind the key thingy

3) Notice that there are two wires that go into it.

4) Using a small flathead screwdriver, remove the top of the plastic box. Or, if you have tiny phillips screwdriver you can remove the whole box.

5) Remove the two wires from the box and tape them together. This will remove the door chime. NOTICE THAT WHEN THEY ARE SEPARATE IS WHEN THEY MAKE THE CHIME.

Just make sure to not lock your keys in your car.

Now you can listen to music or do whatever with your doors open and not be annoyed by the door chime.

kareem....as long as the key is in the keyhole and the door is opened, it will chime. you don't have to have it in the on position. i think i will do this, cuz when im at shows and i show off my 4500 watts....between demo songs..you hear...ding.....ding....ding....ding...its nasty.

no, just put the key in and switch it to the ON position... the position right before the starter goes off. It will ding 3 times then it will stop. Ur gauges and AC and **** will turn on, but at least it wont ding when ur door is open.

He's right, that's what I do when I'm just sittin in the car with it off. You don't need to disconnect anything.
