Wink Future OZ Owner

After doing some research and working on convincing the wife we will be saving up for a Red OZ Lancer purchase in the upcoming months. After looking at some of the inventories I noticed an interesting trend. The 2004 models are sometimes $1000 cheaper than the 2003 models. Why would that be? Is there something I am missing? Anyone seen the same?

Also, I was thinking of getting into AutoCross. Anyone have any good/bad experiences in using the OZ for this?

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

This is my thinking also. I am looking at a 2003 since I can probably get a used on for pretty cheap. I can use the extra savings on some "upgrades".

Neither of the Lancers are really that great for autocross, but I do it anyway The Ralliart looks like it might be a decent contender in GS or STS, but not a national car. If you're just out to have fun, either will be just fine. I've been autocrossing my 02 OZ for 2 years now, still having a blast!

Thanks for all the great feedback. I will be updating when I get closer to the sale. BTW Brian, I will be (hopefully) moving out to SoCal after I retire (2007, maybe) from my military job. Maybe see you on the AutoX courses.
