Question New Drop In Filter or Intake?

I think its time to replace my air filter and was wondering if I should get just a regular drop in or a intake. I don't think there is much of a power difference but I think the only thing is the difference in sound. I was thinking about just a K&N drop in but a guy at Kragen told me to buy an intake off of ebay. Just wondering what you guys think.

Thanks

I think Ive read a dyno somewhere showing that the drop-in does absolutely nothing for power. Yet with an SRI you'll at least get an extra 2-3 ponies .

yeah, on K&N's website it shows like a 2-4 mph gain. I dont know if these figures are correct but thats what it shows me.

I would go with an intake, unless you have some desire to race the stock class in autocross or something. You will like the slight addition in power and the cool sound

I just ordered the rrm sri, says it usually takes 7-10 days. Just got my lancer es 2 days ago and this is my first mod. It looked sweet on the site.

Get the ebay intake, its by BOMZ racing, cost is around 80-100 if you buy in retail. Works great, just no install directions (isn't hard tho, use K&N's install instructions from their website). The rrm is a rip off, just a MAS adapter and a filter with a pathetic carbon fiber shield, costs them like 8 bucks and they charge 150. IF you're going to spend that kind of money get the RMR with a true heat shield and extra large filter. Just my .02. Cheers!

Don't get the intake from ebay because my friend ordered one for his cavilier and the sucker didn't fit.....the O2 sensor didn't fit right....so he got a Injen SRI.......If i were you I would save some money and get the AEM or Injen CAI....its the best bang for the buck....good luck...
