think its time to replace my air filter and was wondering if I should get just a regular drop in or a intake. I don't think there is much of a power difference but I think the only thing is the difference in sound. I was thinking about just a K&N drop in but a guy at Kragen told me to buy an intake off of ebay. Just wondering what you guys think.

Looking at the Lancer's engine bay and the intakes that most people here have installed, a short arrm would actually be worst off than the stock box, the heat from the engine and rad would prove worst than the stock box which uses a ram away from the engine heat to get cold air.

Eh, if you actually look at the stock intake scoop, it narrows down to about 1" diameter, and the front opening sits snug behind part of the hood and doesn't really collect much air at all. Short ram is fine, but I got larger ducting to feed air from a wide open source outside of the engine bay.
