Apexi S AFC

Ok, I understand the basic premise behind the Apexi S AFC, fooling the ECU about air intake. What I dont understand is how this will create any horsepower on The Lancer unless the injectors are changed. Am I in the dark here? Just was wondering because while I was at an autocross this weekend many people in the street stock class had them, on non- turboed cars that have stock internals.

Injector's generally do not run at max capacity. They can push a good bit more than they do with the stock ECU without having been changed. At least that's what it seems like from what I've read.

You mean an AFC w/o any mods, just by itself. That's not effective, blowing close to 400 bucks.

It could be that they are trying to squeeze a bit more mph out at WOT. Normally, cars run rich from the factory.

Maybe, it's a little blue magic box, uncovering +30 HP out of nowhere.

Saw SCC use the S-AFC on an MR-S with just an intake and a exhaust and they pulled a whopping extra 1~ horsepower out of the engine. Gonna want a lotta mods before you shell out the green for that blue box.

if you got a really good deal on it and u know that ur gonna need it for future mods...go for it. uhm besides squeezing a few more hp, uhm, it will help fuel economy a lil bit but yea don't get it as like ur first mod or something unless ur getting a super can't pass deal on it

400 bucks is average for new . . . I have gotten mine used for 200 bucks w/ S&H. Now, that's a great deal.
