Does this void my warranty

I'm just curious, if I were to put subs and an amp in my 03 Lancer ES, and I have an extended warranty, would that void it? It sounds dumb and yes, I'm a chicken sh*t, but I rather not pay for any mechanical failures in the future...thanks in advance!

i doubt it. its not mechanical or body wise. .. anything that u do to abuse ur car will void warranty..but i maybe wrong so ask ur dealer. cause alot of people have diff views on how u void warranty

Only your electrical system. They couldn't void a warranty on a blown engine. Read up on the Magnussen Moss Act and it will tell you all about it. If they deny you any warranty work while the car is still within it's set terms, they must provide you a statement in writing with the reason for denial and how it caused that component to fail. Most of the time, they don't think people know this, and they usually are right. If you confront them with this, they will usually back away because it becomes a legal document in a court. I have had this same thing happen with Acura. I had a system with two JL amps in it and my power steering pump went bad. I told them my intent and they changed their minds.

Agreed, they would probably void the electrical system. Anything else would be fine.
