Haha, I bought them, I really don't feel nothing, but I guess I'm getting better fuel burn or something... bah! Or better spark, maybe more power then. Probably be better if I had a turbo and not these bolt ons.

Doesn't. Car hasn't gotten better at all.

The lower resistance in the wires means generated current is carried more efficiently from your coil packs to your spark plugs, thus giving you a better, stronger spark. Better spark means more combustion. More combustion means less unburned fuel and more power (obviously you will not gain power if all the fuel was being burned to begin with).

Spark plug wires tend to be more beneficial with heavily modified cars or older cars with deteriorating ignition systems. The Silicone coating on the magnacore wires is also more resistant to corrosion, and should provide a longer life than the stock wires.

Question answered?

Yeah, I just received mine and was impressed by all the info they provided. The paper they provided actually explains what I said with more fun technical words if I remember correctly, but it also has other important info such as care and installation. I ended up getting the 7.5mm. (Yeah, I opted not to get the 8mm just because it's red and the 7.5mm is blue. I'm still on stock coils anyway.)

Please keep on topic. The 7.5mm are more than enough for most cars. In fact so are the 7mm replacements. Cars this new just don't have the weak sparks and large amounts of unburned fuel that upgrading ignition and spark help with most.

Yellow is fastest.

Anyone wanna buy my red ones? Since there's such demand, someone can have mine...

back on topic - I didn't notice much, so I guess that goes along with Hobie's theory. On the other hand, they seem pretty decent on my 35 year old Camaro.

is there even any good replacement coil packs out there? i'm talking direct, bolt on replacement

anyways, i love my magnecore wires. call me crazy, but after replacing those and the plugs with some ngk iridiums, my car ran a tad smoother, and unlocked some power. mainly ran better though

When I changed to iridium plugs I also had a smoother idle and acceleration, however it also caused my idle speed to dip on occasion. I can't say I know why. They also fouled VERY quickly with my car turbocharged. I suspect any plug would have fouled quickly, but I'm talking weeks here. The cheap-o NGK replacements Mark at BM Tranny (now Turbotrix) gave me lasted a few months at least.

Anyway, we should get back on topic.
