Need Exaust Help (rattle)

Hey Guys,

I just installed my KAMKIKAZE headers. I have a dc sports TCS exaust. When I'm idling aor run the ac the whole system rattles. Is there an easy way to fix this. By the way as a novice in cars I was able to install the headers them self but it was a pain in the A$$ took about 6hours 1 trip to auto azone, and plenty of beer after the install. lol Also can I get rid of the CEL without a MIL elliminator or can I just pull the bulb from behind the dash?

Thanks

Did you check to make sure your exhaust is bolted tight or if it is resting on another piece of metal under the car?

Yep, check to make sure the exhaust has a few inches clearance from all other parts and adjust the hangers if necessary.

If it's a pop like pressure coming out of the exhaust, that's just the exhaust going from blow to suck when you let off the gas and relieve the pressure of the drive train. Shouldn't be a problem. You might even hear it when slowing down to a stop.

Get under the car and shake the exhaust in a few places. See if you can hear it underneath the car. You may just need to massage one of the hangers a bit.

If your exhaust system hits your sway bar to the right, here is how you stop it from rattling. Go to home depot and buy "Heater Hose", it is a black tube fairly thick. Cut it length wise so that you can open it up and wrap it around your sway bar, cut it long enough to fit the area where your exhaust piping is. then just use regular clamps to tight both ends around the sway bar. Works like a charm and shouldn't cost more than 5 or 10 dollars.

The whole exhaust system is hung on rubber hangers. You may need to get a smaller or longer one in one or two locations to create some clearance. Get under the car and have a look and you'll see what I'm talking about. The are like rubber donuts with holes top and bottom; and they are rather cheap to buy.
