I know mitsubishi doesn't always have the best crash test ratings. But I am quite a bit skeptical as this is a site called "mitsubishisucks.com". I doubt mitsu would let cars on the market that failed any crash test. I am no expert though, so who knows. I just don't see this site as being a reliable source to base judgement on.

Well, I know that you're not going to get a "5 star" rating on a lightweight evonobox, but if our car gets "2 star" I'd hate to see what pre 1990 cars are rated at. At least they beefed up some of the frame and added restraint features. But we're still driving a better engineered tin can.

Mitsubishi doesn't have the best crash rating because people don't know how to f***ing drive right, always messing around with power they can't handle!!!

I honestly don't trust people on the mitsubishi sucks web site. I personally think they drive nasty old "peel-able" civic wagons and would only dream to drive what we get to drive. that site is runned by jealousy......

I know mitsubishi doesn't always have the best crash test ratings.

On the contary, the reason I asked was because the 2003-2004 Lancers were rated "good" and picked Best for its Class by the ISHTA for frontal crash test meaning its the safest vehicle for this size class category, it only scored medicore for side impact.

It really did get a 2 for side impact.

Look where other competitors scored though and I think you'll be suprised by the results. For a big suprise...look at the 350Z's rating!

Look at those complaints, especially on the mirages. A lot of those complaints are purely driver-induced problems (can't explain the air bag not going off in an accident, except crashing where there is no air bag sensor). If people expect going +65 mph on small brakes and stock crappy tires to stop like a C5 vette, they're nuts. They're going to experience understeer or massive slipping on wet roads.
