Installed Evo 8 wing on my CF Trunk

Pics to follow shortly.

But I have a question.

Like the title reads I installed my Evo VIII wing onto my CF trunk.....so I am driving and I notice at about 50 MPH the wing is shaking a little....more like vibrating against the force of the wind......once I hit 60MPH it stops.....but I go back down to 50-55mph and its vibrating again.

Is thise because my CF trunk is lighter and has a little more give than the stock trunk? Is it possible I installed it incorrectly? The wing is held down by 4 bolts and they are on their tight...no spaceing issues between the wing and the trunk.
Just curious to know if anyone has had this issue with an aftermarket Evo wing....especially the CF trunk guys.

is it the wing or the trunk that is the source of the rattling?

Its the wing....but it isnt rattling it's vibrating...no noise.
The CF trunk has a little more give to it since it sits on top of the stock rubber cushions as opposed to the wait of the stock trunk creating a water tight seal because of it's weight. Maybe because it is so light and has this give the forces hitting the wing are pulling on it causing it to vibrate a little...man I dunno......wondering if anyone has same issues.

Probably resonating. Think Tacoma Narrows Bridge. If it's not hard to take off, put some dampening material underneath it like a couple dabs of silicone or very thin foam. It may solve your problem outright.

Thanks HobieK'...but the kit already includes a black foam piece that lines the base of the spoiler where it meets the trunk.

well, even though you have that gasket between the wing and the trunk, it will still vibrate... my cf evo 7 wing does it.

if you can still remove the wing, i would tak eit off and then put a layer of silicone sealer or somethign similiar between that and the trunk, that will help even more, and maybe even try a washer on the underside between the nut and the trunk

What am I going to ask them at that forum for? So they could remind me that I dont have an Evo and I should stop installing "Evo" parts to my car.

I rather not deal with the headache.
