Yes, they work and they are known as PDR(Paintless Dent Repair) a technique developed by Mercedes-Benz back in the 80s, if the dent is not creased, they can message the metal out to 95-100% of the original form without bondo and painting within 30 minutes. Will cost anywhere from $30-$100cdn depending on the difficulty of the repair.

Problem with bondo is that you will have to repaint the whole fender after patching it and since with PDR its the original metal and paint your car will still be noted as original and not repainted when you try to sell it.

 

Here's what I would do: go buy "ding king" or one of those $20 dent removers (provided the metal isn't really warped). Worst case scenario- it doesn't work, you're out $20, and might be able to get a refund from the store. Then go ahead and find a place that does that paintless dent repair.

Bondo is a pain to work with if you've never done it before, and/or aren't very patient (it takes a lot to gt it just right).... then you need to get colormatched paint, primer and a clearcoat with the proper "softeners" in it to repaint the whole fender.... then it can pop off if that spot gets bumped again

 

Alright now i just want some feedback from other members who have successfully removed dings and dents from their cars on their own lets hear the stories

 

I pulled a ding once with a propane torch and an ice cube. I won't go into detail, though, because I don't want you torching your paint and blaming it on me.
