mil eliminator ?'s
mil eliminator ?'s
ok, i got the rrm header and with that of course came my CEL.So if i get a mil eliminator will it just make my CEL not work at all,or will it just turn it off for the header and if somthing else is wrong turn it on again. Thanks for input
It will make the CEL go out for that code. You install the eliminator in the second 02 sensor's wiring. The car throws the code because the first cat is removed. You have two oxygen sensors: one before the first cat, which monitors air/fuel ratio, then a 2nd which is after the 1st cat, letting the ECU know the 1st cat is working or not.
You should try the trick the EVO guys are using and it seems to work. Go to AutoZone and get two 18mm anti-foul spark plug adaptors. Take one of them and drill out the hole in the center to 1/2" in diameter, and leave the other one alone. Install the modified one first on the 02 sensor, then the non-modified one after that. Then screw the 02 sensor back on. This allows some exhaust gas to reach the sensor, but not all, thus eliminating the light. I havent tried it personally, but I'm getting ready to do it once I install my RRM header and turbo. I'll let everyone know if it works but it won't be until the end of the month...
