Easy Installs

hey all. im lookin to do some quick and hopefully painless installs before i go back to school, and i was wondering what are some easy things to install (things that would not require me to take out the entire engine, or can be done within a couple hours each). I was thinking of trying to install a CAI, throttle body, and maybe a catback exhaust or header (not sure how hard a header install would be tho). so basically my question is how hard are those things to install, especially the throttle body?

oh also what are good lowering springs for an ES that would lower the car about an inch?

thanks for all the help.

1" drop is lame lol, you'd barely even notice it

Progress springs have a 1.8" drop on the ES.

CAI is easy (unless u can't get the MAF off the stock airbox)
Header (everyone says lower left nut is a biatch)
Throttle Body (most say its easy, never tried myself, looks wicked simple)
Cat-back Exhaust (simple..bolt on-off usually)

i think tint is also good, can cost a lot though...but tint is nice.

or tail lights are simple if ur into that (however if tails are your first mod than ur a ricer...to me at least lol)

i know an inch drop is kinda weak, but the roads around my house arent that great and i was afraid of bottoming out. for the springs i was really just lookin for a cheap way to improve my handling. is there anything else that will help with that?

thanks for all the help

dont get progress springs, get eibachs they are about an inch. progress are to dramatic. if you dont get eibachs then get teins they are more dramatic than eibach but less than progress. changinf springs will take several hours tho not just 2.

eibachs dont fit the ES. I'd go with the tein springs like mike suggested. Search around, there was at least one member selling his not to long ago.

Good handling upgrades that don't take long:
Rear sway bar - biggest difference, 30 minute install
front strut bar - noticeable difference in feeling, 10 minute install
rear tie bar - 30 minutes, very dramatic difference
rear strut bar - don't have it, but I presume roughly 30 minutes, just to cut the trunk lining right
16"x7" wheels - most expensive, but lower profile sticky tires on wider rims would be probably as much an improvement as the rest of these combined.
