Motor Swap

Here we go......

I blew up the bottom end on my Lancer es. Gotta love nitrous! Anywho. Here is the million dollar question.....

Can a 04 Ralliart DOHC be transplanted into an 03 ES? i know you would need the ecu and wiring harness. I have to buy a new motor anyway, and i would love to have a dohc mivec in there. Good swap, bad swap? I have a shop that would love to do it, and im prepared for the cost. Anyone try this? Only real information please. Thanks in advance!

there was a guy selling one on the boards. Cehck the private/ for sale section and I am sure you will find it.

Good luck with the swap. Let us know when you finish it.

They are both basicly the same car. The 4G69 has a different transmission too, but all the linkage should be the same.

Overall sounds like a safe mod as long as you understand the cost involved. Go for it

Definately see if you can keep the OZ tranny. I spin 3500 RPMs at 75 in my RA. Being in high MIVEC at freeway cruzing speed is bad...

Bad for gas milage...

I would really like to see this. All the power to you if you do it. Its just that so many people have come on here saying they are going to do swaps and then either never do it or never tell about it on evoM or the other forum that I browse(doubt it you would want to brag). So Iam sorry if I dont support you as much as others but when you purchase the engine or have started the swap then post pictures or give us an update. Then you have my full attention.

BTW it will fit. Takes a bit of work but not rediciouls work.

according to RRM it drops right in. i think the hardest part is going to be finding the actual parts...... your definately going to have to do some searching.

Need to bring this thread back from the dead.
Before i Continue...the Ralliar Mivec engine code is 4G69? Correct me if i'm wrong.

I need some techie guy to really break down if the Ralliart Mivec will work. When it comes to engine swaps and everything that goes with it i'm a Noob. I'll be honest.

I am seriously thinking of putting a Ralliart Mivec into my 2003 Lancer ES. I need Sponge2.0's questions answered.

-What is necessary for the swap besides the engine, ecu, ecu harness?
-Does everything line up? i.e. exhaust, intake manifold, transmission (very important)
-Can an auto Ralliart engine be put into a 03 ES manual? Is an auto ralliart ecu compliant in an 03 ES manual?

PLEASE I NEED SOME ANSWERS! All i could find was searching was all these different engine codes for possible swaps, evo/galant/eclipse engines into mirage cars....no thread largely based technically on the MIVEC ENGINE.

Check out www.car-parts.com for salvage yards in your area. They may have one around.

If you pull it off, you'll pave the way for all 5g mirage owners.
