they pop out with a flat blade screwdrier (non rivetd on the driver). It's jsut plastic clips holding it in.......There may be notched screws on a couple of em...i dont rememebr. ive taken apart many a dashboard and often get confused.........
just go slow and pry them off....they should pop. if you get a crack, obviously stop. try going from teh corners...the plastic is stronger and will be less flex on the vent.

The center portion where the vents and clock are, have two screws under the radio panel.. take those screws out and then the remaining portion should pop out, its held in with clips.. carefully work your way around with a screwdriver (wrapped with cloth)
You may have to remove the instrument cluster.. The section on the driver side next to the instrument cluster (Mirror adjuster on there) is also held in with clips.
Its the same for the Evo and Lancer..

You have to remove the Gauge Cluster to take out the part of the dash where the clock is. There are two screws that hold the dash in place that are behind the gauge cluster setup. This is also the case for the area of the dash that has the side mirror controller. Good Luck, and trust me, it's a lot easier than you think.
Here was the inside of my old Talon I did an eclipse conversion on.. I used flexible bumper primer to prime the surfaces of the interior pieces. Put about 2 to 3 thin coats of primer on the surface and make sure that there are no drips or bumps. If so, wet sand them down lightly with 500 grit sand paper. Next, I used interior flexible vinyl spraypaint. I bought it from Advance Auto Parts. Put about 2 to 3 coats of paint on the selected pieces you already primered. Let them dry somewhere around 70 degrees with no humidity. Optional: I didn't do this but one of my friends did ---Use 2 or 3 coats of clearcoat to make it permanently shiny and protect from scratches. Then let dry for 48hrs. I didn't use clearcoat but my dash pieces came out shiny enough and never cracked/peeled. Looked like a show quality paint job. Only cost me about 20 dollars.
The hardest peice to get out was the airbag.. I had to disconnect the airbag (turn car off and disconnect battery for 20 mins). Then I took off the glovebox and laid on my back to remove the 4 bolts holding the air bag in place.. phew! Fun stuff.
