Alright, im taking them out and selling them to someone i guess. I want to buy replacement bulbs though, in the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer manual it says they take "9007 HB5 65/55" lights. Can anyone find me the lights that would work for my car, i would like to have them white lights, as powerful as my car can handle. Please use Cardomain.com though, since thats where i do my shopping (i do not want Eurolite, or any other purple lights).

All i can find is

http://www.cardomain.com/item/APC509007UWT

but it has no reviews, so thats making me a little unsure. Also, they are DOT approved, which probably means they will be really weak lights, i want as strong lights as i can get without damaging the car.

Thanks in advance.

Mounting Type: 9007 (also known as HB)

Will that fit? Thats the only description they give. I want to purchase from cardomain, PIAAs are too expensive, and they dont offer the other two. Can you just verify for me this bulb, that it will work for my 04 Lancer ES.

I got more responses, and everyone says that the watts shouldnt matter that much, that it wont damage anything. I asked a local car tuning shop, my neighbor (works on cars), and another friend (who builds custom cars).

If watts don't matter, why does Mitsubishi recommend one specific wattage? Yes you can get away with running higher wattage just as you can get away with running the wrong kind of oil, but are you willing to risk it? The bulbs you posted will work.

If you drive the standard lancer, it should use the 9007. I got sylvanias in 9007 and they fit perfectly, and extract the right amount of power.

No idea my advice would be if you want 9007, but bulbs that say 9007 and if you want HB5, buy HB5. What are these bulbs for? If its the lancer get 9007, like I've said for the enth time.

What do the HB numbers stand for?

The car is a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer ES, and in the owners manual it says 9007 HB5. I found a 9007 bulb with the right wattage, but it doesnt mention any HB number, i want to know what that means.
