Trouble installing Xenon headlights!
okay lazer77, first of all, 9004 bulbs might look identical to 9007 bulbs, but look carefully inside the bulbs & compare them. The 9004 has the wire perpendicular to the bulb and the 9007 has it parallel to the bulb. And the 9004 is 65/45 while the 9007 is 65/55. I also did a little research online, found that the wires are connected differently too. The positive and negative are in different places so if u really wanna keep ur 9004 do the following or BURN your harness or even mess up the whole electric circuit in your car.:
"You can do a basic 9007 install using the stock wiring. First swap the low beam and ground wires on both harnesses. Either pull apart the connector to switch the wires or cut the wires and swap them. The low beam wire is green with a yellow tracer for the driver’s side and blue with a black tracer for the passenger’s side. The ground for both sides is black with white dots. Then file down the two lower nubs on the housing where the bulb goes in. Put the 9007 bulb in and plug it in. Aim if needed. That’s it. "
I DO NOT RECOMMAND THIS THO!
And about buying those bulbs that are higher voltage than what the manual recommanded, IT MIGHT BURN YOUR WIRING HARNESS! so just get some PIAA Xtreme White(around $50) or silverstar 9007ST(goes around $30 on ebay, hunt them!) or CATZ Galaxy White 9007(what i just got, bought for $45 shipped)
hope this helps
EDITED: HB5 is a nickname for 9007, so they are the same, but most people say 9007

hi i got some HID lights and i am having some problems. They are installed correctly and they work but sometimes 1 side will completely shut off. Also sometimes it would flicker....can someone tell me what i neeed to make the light stop flickering and make them BOTH shinee. i got 6000k, 9007 bulbs and i drive a 2006 lancer ES
You have the same problem as the 8 lancer because of the Drl lights.
You have to either wire them with a relay or put in a drl harness .
If you want Pm me i have a couple of them .
