Shift knob Install

Hey I know this is probably really easy but can someone give me instructions on how to install a shift knob?
I really dont have experience installing anything on my car except for my intake and the shift knob didn't come with any instructions.

Thanks

if you have a manual trans, just twist it off to the left and twist the new one on.
for automatic theres 2 screws behind the shifter, take those out and put the new one and and tighten the screws on the new one whichever way they go.

and if it is not a screw on knob, select the right sized plastic cup it came with and then tighten the screws (usually 3 of these) around it till it is nice and tight. Lock tite (sp?) helps too.

I believe that teflon tape will just keep the knob from twisting around the shifter.

you'll make threads by screwing on the one that fits closest

pics would help, or even what brand and model. But if it has no threads, then it should have those little screws that basically pinch the shifter. If not, it would be hard to keep it in place, even with teflon tape. Post some pics though.

those little black things....find the one that fits over the bar connected to the tranny that doesnt come off when u unscrew the stock nob. when u take off the stock one, make sure u take off the white plastic thing (i think)......find the black plastic cylinder that came with the new nob that fits the tightest over the stock shift bar. slide it on all the way. then u should be able to just put ur new nob on tob of that and it prolly has screws in it that you have to tighten to the plastic to keep it on and from twisting.

my ichiban nob was that way.
