Help installing Short Ram Intake for 04 ES please.

Help installing Short Ram Intake for 04 ES please.

I just got a Short Ram Intake system for my 2004 Lancer ES, and i was wondering if someone could please give me detailed step by step instructions on how to install it. I got little instructions that came with the intake, but im not very car-literate so i was wondering if someone could break it down a little better for me. Basically i dont know where to find this "Air Box". Either way, just a detailed step by step instructions on how to do this, maybe with some pictures and diagrams. Sorry for the question if its stupid, but like i said, im not great with cars.

the air box is the big plastic square thing in the right side of the for engine bay.. its also connected to the funnel.. u have to remove all of that.. i cant really explain the whole install right now. install is pretty easy. just remember to disconnect the batt. and once u finish have it idle so that ur car will adjust to it

just turn your car on and let it run. don't hit the gas or rev it up or anything just let it rum for a while before you take it out. Like let it warm up.

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU MESS YOUR CAR UP!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I DID TO MY 2003 OZ RALLY WHICH HAS SAME 2.0L ENGINE.

HERE ARE SOME DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS. IF YOU WANT PICS YOU NEED TO EMAIL ME AT joesawsomeimport@yahoo.com!!!!

1ST: TAKE BATTERY CABLE OFF OF BATTERY BOX! USE SOCKET WRENCH OR PLYER OR WRENCH.(IF YOU DON'T DISCONNECT THE BATTERY YOU STILL WOULD BE FINE!)
LOCATE AIR BOX, BIG BLACK RECTANGULAR PLASTIV BOX WITH A TUBE COMING OUT OF IT. IT IS IN YOU UPPER RIGHT HAND VIEW IF YOUR LOOKING STRAIGHT AT IT.

2ND: DETATCH 2 SILVER CLIPS ON YOUR AIR BOX(RECTANGLE) THE TOP SHOULD POP OFF.

3RD: DISCONNECT ECB(EMMISIONS CONTROL BOX) WHICH IS LOCATED ON YOUR AIR BOX. ITS LIKE A PLUG, UN PLUG IT.

4TH: LOOK FOR THREE OR FOUR SCREWS UNDER YOUR AIR BOX(WITH IT STILL ATTACTHED). UNSCREW THEM. USE A RACHET.

5TH. THERE ARE TWO PLASTIC PLUGS(LOOK LIKE SCREWS WITH NO HEADS), NORMALLY THEY ARE BLACK. USE A FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER TO POP THEM OFF, THEY SHOULD JUST POP RIGHT OUT!

6TH: USE A PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVE TO LOOSEN THE BRACKETS ON YOU AIR TUBE(BLACK SNAKE LOOKING THING. AND ON YOUR THROTLE BODY(WHERE THE OTHER END OF TUBE ENDS), THEN PULL THAT OFF(IT WILL SLIDE RIGHT OFF!)

7TH: PULL LONG TUBE LOOKING THING OUT OF AIR BOX, OR JUST PULL THE WHOLE AIR BOX OUT, THE TUBE WILL COME OUT TOO WITH IT.

8TH. UNSCREW ECB FROM AIR BOX AFTER TAKING OFF IT WILL LOOK LIKE A BIG BOXY HOLE.

NOW YOU SHOULD HAVE A BIG EMPTY SPACE WHERE YOUR AIR BOX WAS.

TAKE YOUR INTAKE TUBE AND ONE CLAMP AND ONE TUBE HOLDER, PUT THAT ON THE END OF THE LONG SIDE OF THE INTAKE TUBE.

USE YOUR BLACK ADAPTER LIKE A SQUARE WITH A HOLE IN IT AND 4 SCREW HOLES IN IT. AND SCREW YOUR ECB ON TO THE FLAT END OF IT. WHERE THE HOLE GOES INTO ECB(IT SHOULD SLIDE IN BUT YOU MIGHT HAVE TO JIGGLE IT A LITTLE TO GET IT IN)

*THE PLUG SHOULD BE ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE OF THE BOX! IF NOT YOUR ENGIN WONT READ IT RIGHT. MAKE SURE IT IS NOT BACKWORDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TAKE 1 BRACET AND ONE TUBE HOLDER AND PLACE ON SHOTER END OF INTAKE TUBE AND CONNECT THE ADAPTER WITH THE ECB ON IT TO THE HOLDER AND CLAMP IT DOWN.

NOW TAKE YOUR AIR FILTER AND ONE CLAMP AND PLACE ON ADAPTER WITH ECB ON IT AND CLAMP IT DOWN.

NOW THERE SHOULD BE A BRACET THAT COMES WITH YOUR KIT (MINE DID) BUT I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHERE TO PUT IT BUT IT SEEMED TO MAKE NO DIFFERENCE TO MY CAR.

NOW THAT IT IS ALL PUT TOGETHER AND READY TO GO ON YOU HAVE TO PUT IT ON YOUR THROTTLE BODY(WHERE THE BLACK STOCK TUBE(SNAKE LOOKING THING) WAS CLAMPED ON) PUT THE LONG END OF YOUR INTAKE TUBE WITH A HOLDER AND A CLAMP IN HAND ON THE OPENING (NOW YOU HAVE TO MOVE IT AROUND A BIT UNTIL YOU GET IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE UNDERNEATH YOUR HOOD) AND CLAMP IT DOWN-TIGHT!!!!!!!! NOT THE HOSE THAT CAME WITH THE KIT, PUT IT WHERE YOUR STOCK HOSE WAS CONNECTED TO YOUR CAM HEADS.

NOW EVERYTHING IS IN PLACE, GO TO YOUR FUSE BOX (LITTLE BLACK BOX ON THE MOST RIGHT SIDE OF YOUR ENGINE ATTATCHED TO THE RIGHT FENDER) AND TAKE TO COVER OFF, AND SEE THE BIG GREEN LOOKING BOX. THATS YOUR ECU. JUST PULL THAT UP AND IT WILL POP OFF, KEEP IT OFF FOR ABOUT 1-5 MINS, AND PLUG IT BACK IN. PUT THE COVER BACK ON AND GO START YOUR ENGINE. JUST LET IT RUN DON'T REV IT, IF IT DIES OUT RIGHT AWAY THAT IS OK, ITS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. IF IT REVS BY ITSELF ITS OK TOO ITS ADJUSTING IT SELF TO THE MORE AIR FLOW GOING INTO YOUR ENGINE. hey just wondering where you got the red attachment that's coming straight of the throttle body, I can't find small attachments anywhere like this one
