Question cold air vs short ram intakes

Hey I'm just wonder what's the difference between cold air intakes and
short rams. And which intake would be best for me to install? I drive a 2010 se with a 2.0 liter engine.

Many guys here will scream, use the search engine... but what I will say is. go with the Cold Injen option. it is reliable, and yields good numbers. Also I have yet to hear this intake causing any problems or codes. and i mean 0 reports.

Run up. I would go with the AEM intake since it delivers a very stable gain of power all along RPM curve.

After that the K&N Short Ram box, or the Takata one (did i spell that right) lol

Cheers

there is a myth about the intakes that many people don't understand here in PR we did a test on a dyno and we saw that the intakes give no HP if its added alone without any other racing part component , now the only psychological reaction from the one that buys the product is :" wow it gives some extra power"!! but it only give a bit of throttle response and noise to the car which makes you think intakes are worth having it in my opinion if you are planning to add exhaust, manifold and a muffler I recommend you should use the col air but it depends on the zone in which you live I live in a tropical area so there is no use on having a cold air intake ..why ? because the heat comes from the floor in greater levels and the upper zone of the car would have a cooler air flow , so consider the place you live , for what purpose are you planning to use this item and how much would be the difference between one to another ,,, sorry for the essay hope that helps!

Takeda. I recently installed it on my car (also a 2010 SE).

CAI generally will give you slightly better power gains compared to SRIs but require more work to install.
You can install an SRI in about an hour or less.
People will talk about hydrolock with CAIs, it's not a major issue unless you live somewhere where floods are common, but if you're worried you can always pick up a hydroshield for the filter (and avoid big puddles).
As far as CAIs go, evo_soul is bang on, can't go wrong w/ Injen.

Search the forums, there are a ton of threads on CAIs, SRIs, and CAIs vs SRIs.
