It basically breaks down to this:
The gains on short ram vs cold air are minimal if any. The short ram is stuck in the hot *** engine bay. But the cold air piping is stuck in that same hot *** engine bay. Unless you heat wrap the piping it's safe to say the gains are negligible between the two. Based on this, I'd go with the short ram to save a little green.

AEM over Injen - heard some stories of the Injen filter element doing nasty things like... breaking off and getting sucked into the engine.

wouldn't that be kinda hard? especially since it would have to go thru the small holes in the honeycomb first?

I think he is more reffering to the collapse of the filter itself. I dont see a lancer having enough air flowing through it to suck an intake in.

RMR Short Ram for sure

Straight up man, I would go with the RMR short ram. It looks great, it's innovative in that it benefits from the stock air dam, it's sounds throaty not ricey, and it's got a full heat sheild. I've got it on my car and I've never been happier. The instructions are easy to understand and it only took me about 45 min to install. I promise you won't be disappointed. Take a look at the website and see for yourself.
