If you put the lock latches on, itll close flushly just like stock (Thats what their for actually. The trunk will hold when its upright, rather than drop down... The latches are to keep it down when its closed, so the lid doesnt tilt up a bit and not be closed right.).

I got it on mine, but I got the autoloc version and that is about a $100.00. I show the car a lot and people, do the wow thing. It's your car, put it on if you like it. Who cares what everybody else thinks. Do as you, please.

Hey man, How does that version work actually?
I engineered my flip kit in my head, but Ive never actually seen one of the real ones...
Is it hinges also with another type o' lock, or what?
Can you show us a pic?

(Hmm... I should get a nice new White bushing, come to think of it.)
Some people bolt a bar of angle iron all the way across the thing, but I thought that was to bulky and ghetto lookin'. I prefer subtle.

what are those white things the top 2 bolts connect to to the trunk?

There spacers that go over the bolt, so-as not to bend or warp it.
It keeps it an appropriate distance from the lid.

Just as illustrated... 1 spacer per bolt.

When people first started doing this it was cool because it was new and not many people had done it. That was at least a year ago. Now that everyone knows that it is all cheap hinges and locks it is no longer cool in my opinion. I would be scared to show that in public in fear that I would be laughed at by a couple of boys in an eighties model Honda with 13 inch gold mexican rims. no offense.

Ive been to car meets where theres literally over 200 cars, and only one person had it.
Youde be surprised how many people dont have Flip-Flop Trunks, but they ALLLLL have Lamborghini Doors...
Youre entitled to your opinion, but its not as "been done" as it may seem.

Yes, the bolt goes through. The nut screws on inside the lid.
Sorry I didnt specify when I said "...so-as not to warp it".
I meant "it" being the Hinge. (See Below)

VERSUS

Remeber: The hinge goes on the front/bottom side of the lever!

ya, i see what ur getting at, does that really in a way eliminate the bending of the hinge tho, or is there some other support i didnt see. in case ur curious that is my trunk in the first pick ^ and i really do want to make it look better than in that pic, so far ive painted it to match, which helps, and the only reason i have that ugly bar there was so the trunk would sit paralell to the car, like it went straight up, if there is another way to do this and have the same effect, im all ears

Yeah, use the spacers and the hinge wont bend. It keeps everything where it needs to be.
The bushing will make the lid stop right where it needs to, so that when it tilts down, it tilts nice and level. I personally like who it says "LANCER" right there like BONG!

Anyone interested.... don't buy the EBay one.
just buy the hinges from a hardware store ( like $1.25 each). check out mine.... I used cables and butterfly locks instead of the bulky stopper arms as well.

Good luck!
