oil pressure sender

Question oil pressure sender

Hey Guys


I have just recevied an oil pressure guage and i am wondering were i mount the sender unit?? does any one have a picture or just tell me the general location?

The easiest place is to mount it right above the oil filter. There is a plug that requires an 8mm hex wrench to get it off right above the oil filter. You need some brass fittings to get the sending unit on there (3/8NPT male to 1/8NPT female brass fitting). Don't forget to use thread sealant. You also may want to consider remote mounting the sending unit. Brass fittings are soft in nature, and due to the stress of the sending unit weight, and the shaking of the engine, you can stress the brass fittings and cause them to leak. Some people never have problems mounting it directly though.
