How to remove dome light

Is there a way to remove the dome light without damaging the plastic cover? I can't seem to find a way without breaking the plastic. How do you remove it? Any help would be great. For anyone who doesn't know, it's the light on the roof. Thanks.

What do you mean? The light is not even painted. Are you talking about the plastic cover? I just need to change my light because mine won't turn on anymore. I bought replacement bulbs at autozone.

^ignore him

all you have to do is use a small flat head screwdriver and pry it off. i think its the back that you can slide the screwdriver in. you should see a few little notches, and just pop it out.

So that wouldn't break the plastic or anything? Man, you don't realize how cheap the lancer parts are until you do surgery

the clear plastic piece pops right out, if you want to remove the entire assembly theres a screw or two holding it up. I had to remove mine to get the headliner out when I dye'd it black.

You should be able to gently pry at it with a small flathead, no?
